BECKY BARNES
ELDER

Becky Barnes has grown up in the Presbyterian Church, joining the Longwood church in the early 1970's. She is currently the Clerk of Session, teaches youth Sunday school and runs the digital hymnal during our services.  She is a Title I teacher aide with Pettis County R12 School in Dresden and enjoys watching the grandkids play sports.

SAM BARNES
ELDER

Sam Barnes is a third-generation elder and a fifth-generation member of Longwood Presbyterian Church.  He and his wife Ashley were married in the church and have two daughters.  Sam works at RAMCO Supplies, and he is on the building and grounds committee.  He enjoys going camping with his family.

J.R. GREER
ELDER

J. R. Greer has been a member of the Longwood Presbyterian Church for most of his life. He joined after confirmation at the age of 14. In the early 1980’s, he became an elder and later a session member and has continued to work for the betterment of our church. He loves old cars, fishing, playing with grandkids, visiting with and playing cards with friends, and an occasional good book. In 2012, he retired from Pittsburgh Corning as an equipment engineer, however, he continues to work as a contractor for them in his spare time. He keeps busy with several other volunteer jobs (cemetery board, alumni board, and multiple committees with the Presbytery). He and his wife Sharon will celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary in August 2023.

AMANDA KENYON
ELDER

Amanda Kenyon has been very fortunate to have attended Longwood Presbyterian Church her entire life. She has two sons and teaches first grade. She feels very blessed to have Longwood as her church family. 

PHIL OLSON
INTERIM REVEREND

Our Pastor is the Rev. Dr. Philip Olson. Rev. Olson has served congregations in New Jersey, Ohio and Michigan.  From 1998 until he retired in 2010, he served as an Interim Pastor in five congregations, primarily in Detroit Presbytery. He and his wife, Deborah, live in Columbia where she is a member of First Presbyterian and serves on the Board of Deacons. They moved to Missouri in 2012 to be with their family. In Missouri, he has served congregations in Fulton, Boonville and Bunceton, and was Stated Clerk of the Presbytery. He has been with Covenant Presbyterian since 2019, and Longwood Presbyterian since 2021.

JEFF BARNES
ELDER

Jeff Barnes joined Longwood Presbyterian Church after he and Becky were married there in 1979.  He served as a Deacon and became an Elder when the Deacons merged with the Session. He has taught adult Sunday School. Jeff is a retired oil salesman and still raises cattle and puts up hay.  He enjoys reading history, especially World War II and crappie fishing.

DEBBIE BROWN
ELDER

Debbie Brown and her husband have been married for 40 years. She joined Longwood Presbyterian Church after they were married. She has 2 children and 6 grandchildren. Longwood is a beautiful church with a wonderful church family that is always there for each other.

SHARON GREER
TREASURER

Sharon Greer married into the Presbyterian church, from the Methodist church, in 1965 when she married her husband, J.R. She has been the church treasurer since 1995 and has served on a Presbytery committee for several years. Since her retirement, she has been very active in Presbyterian Women in both Presbytery & our church. She loves to travel, read, play cards & dominos with friends and be a grandma. She and J.R. have two sons and daughters-in-law that have blessed us with six grandchildren & a great-grandson. She and J.R. have put their heart into Longwood Church and are delighted to see our young people getting involved & growing in the church.
